We have identified four different trend themes for 2018: Smart Home, Ageless Living, Micro-Housing, and Community Zone. One of our decor highlights – “Jackson Hickory” – belongs to the Smart Home theme. In general terms, this trend theme focuses on the way in which homes are becoming smarter thanks to digitization, while remaining comfortable and snug.
Our Jackson Hickory wood decor from the Hybrid Classics collection owes its well-balanced look to the perfect interplay between refinement, authenticity, and lively elements such as small inlays and knots. The furniture decor is a good example of the new generation of modern natural surfaces.
Jackson Hickory garnered significant customer interest at interzum. It was the third-most-requested decor, behind Kitami and Catania Oak. Its popularity is not confined to a single market, but has been met with great enthusiasm worldwide.
Jackson Hickory was the most discussed decor at SICAM, possibly due to the fact that it represents an alternative to the oak trend, while also scoring points with its natural look.
It is already being used by various furniture manufacturers, as was apparent at the M.O.W. fair.
Matching edging is also available now from Rehau.
A versatile decor: in our showroom, we display Jackson Hickory as the bench seating surface.
Did You Know?
Hickory is a tree species belonging to the walnut family. Its trees grow in North America and East Asia. Hickory wood is very rigid, hard-wearing, and durable. It is often used to make tool handles or curved items. The tree’s name comes from the word used for it by the Algonquin people, who made a drink called pocohiquara from pressed hickory nuts. Historically, hickory was an important wood to Native American tribes as they used it to make bows for hunting.
