Schulz had previously agreed with the Schatt family in 2015 that he would no longer continue as CEO after his contract expired in April 2017 because of health issues.
Roland Auer is appreciative and a bit emotional in regards to his appointment. “My entire career has taken place at Schattdecor with these great people, diverse cultures, captivating products and dynamic market. It makes me proud and humble to now be in a leadership position to define further skills in close cooperation with my colleagues, the Supervisory Board and the Schatt family. Personally, I owe Reiner Schulz a great deal and he leaves behind a successful, innovative and dynamic legacy; the financial year of 2016 was the best year since the company was founded. That’s truly a great deal of pressure!”
Roland Auer was born in 1968 and he started his career at Schattdecor as an assistant to the Executive Board in Thansau in 1993. Afterwards, he was part of the Executive Board at the Polish subsidiary company in Tarnowo Podgórne from 1999 to 2007. One year later he became CEO of Schattdecor Poland at both factories in Tarnowo Podgorne and Glucholazy. In 2011 he has appointed to the Executive Board of Schattdecor AG in Thansau.
The change in leadership will be performed in a ceremony at the headquarters in Thansau, Germany on May 22, 2017. At the same time, the chairmanship of the Schattdecor AG Supervisory Board will be handed over to Reiner Schulz by company founder, Walter Schatt. Mr. Schatt thus ensures the continuity of the further development of his company group. Furthermore, his daughters, Anja Schatt-Steiner as Deputy Chairman and Sonja Schatt-Fritsch, will continue as members of the Supervisory Board, which also includes Ms. Dr. Susanne Weiss, Mr. Bruno Walt and Mr. Prof. Heinrich Koester.
