Amberwood Our "Amberwood" decor pays homage to the historical Granary Island in Gdansk. Its very design originates from original foundation beams that we managed to get our hands on when the old storehouses there were being restored between 2013 and 2015. This wood had been in situ for centuries, supporting the foundations of the storage facilities that date back to sometime between the 13th and 16th century. Over time, they became submerged deeper in the water, eventually forming the construction supporting the entire harbor infrastructure. The effects of extremely heavy loads combined with changeable and extreme weather conditions caused the wood to alter as the years went by. Its dense growth rings took on characteristic coloring. And the naturally nuanced, yellowish-green contrasts between the gray tones brought about an attractive finish. By choosing to add "Amberwood" to the Schattdecor collection, we are reviving a unique surface structure that is steeped in history and preserving a poignant chapter in the history of Granary Island in Gdansk. This decor is perfect for traditional and modern interior design alike.
