Schattdecor USA takes up production – First reel of decor paper printed in January 2011

The team at Schattdecor's newly-built plant in St. Louis, Mo, printed its first reel of decor paper decor on 28 January 2011, completely in line with the project's planning and execution schedule.
The Schattdecor Supervisory Board gave the go-ahead for commencement of building work on two new production facilities in Turkey and the USA in late 2009.  The Istanbul plant began production operations on 3 December 2010, with the one in St. Louis following suit this January. This makes a long-cherished dream come true for General Manager Tom Drazen and his team, who can now offer decor paper made in the U.S.A. and respond swiftly and flexibly to the wishes of North American customers.
Schattdecor takes an optimistic view of the future in the U.S.A., even if the market is recovering more slowly in the country than in Europe. The company's best-selling decors are currently a source of sales success for customers everywhere, as proved at the Cologne International Furniture Show, and while it is aware of the particular challenges that the U.S. market presents, Chief Sales Officer Roland Auer points out that Schattdecor's operational efficiency and financial resources make it confident of significantly strengthening its market position in North America in future.
