08.01.2010 Schattdecor sells majority stake in Rotodecor – Printing press manufacturer takes optimistic view of the future
|
Effective 31.12.2009, Schattdecor AG sold a majority of the shares in its wholly-owned machine building subsidiary Rotodecor GmbH of Bad Salzuflen, Germany to Roland Schmid, the company's Managing Director and former Chief Technical Officer of Schattdecor. In 2009 the printing press and special machinery manufacturer generated sales of approx. €10 million with some 30 employees. Late last year, Schattdecor sold the majority of its shares in Rotodecor to the company's managing director, Roland Schmid. He will now be managing the activities of the divested company, which has been renamed RMS Holding GmbH, as its principal shareholder. In his work he will be supported by Hans-Dieter Jacobi, authorised signatory and head of the company's engineering department, who along with his committed team can look back on several hundred man years of experience in decor printing press and special machinery manufacturing. According to Schattdecor CEO Reiner Schulz, Schattdecor is very pleased with this step, since it ensures it a very reliable supplier for the future while opening up promising prospects for Rotodecor's employees. Roland Schmid sees the company's new ownership structure as providing it a very solid and promising foundation. One the one hand it will continue to supply Schattdecor with machinery in accustomed quality, but on the other can now gain new customers in the decor and wood-based-panel branch. The products and services supplied by the company and the global scope of its activities speak for themselves. Its array of machinery ranges from rotogravure printing presses used in decor paper and package printing through lacquering lines to winders, rewinders and rotary die cutters equipped with a stacker delivery system. Its very successful activities in the field of package printing will be an important mainstay of its work in future. As Schmidt relates, the company has some very interesting irons in the fire in this respect, plus a number of orders already gained from foreign customers. It is also very proud of the steady growth of its maintenance and service contracts in the decor printing sector, seeing them as a sign of the high trust placed in the quality and reliability of its work. 2530 characters.
