The Supervisory Board of Schattdecor AG has given the go-ahead for immediate commencement of construction work on a plant in St. Louis, MO. Against the backdrop of a brightening worldwide economic climate, this decision marks continuation of the global expansion of the world market leader for printed decor paper and finish foil. 
Schattdecor had already purchased a plot in the greater St. Louis area back in 2008. Preparations were started for construction work and the company soon also set about creating the personnel and organisational prerequisites for establishing a US subsidiary and lining up employees from the German headquarters and existing US operations for their coming tasks at the new plant.
However, the  dramatic worldwide economic collapse at the turn of 2008/2009 delayed the start of the respective investments. Now Schattdecor is exerting all the more effort to complete the building project as quickly as possible and have a new printing press up and running at the plant by the end of 2010. 
Schattdecor will start producing reels of decor paper 'made by Schattdecor in the USA' in early 2011, thus delivering on its pledge to serve the important US market from within the country.
