"We are a dependable partner, one our customers can rely on even in difficult times" – this is how Reiner Schulz, the CEO of Schattdecor, presents the company in its new corporate brochure. The fact that Schattdecor participated in the Interzum in Cologne bears out this statement, as indicated by satisfied customers. And its showing proved to be a highly successful one, thanks to striking furniture and flooring decors, a trend concept expressed in the main display elements, impressive foil innovations and incredible prototype digital printing studies, thus vindicating the company's early decision to concentrate its trade fair activities this year on the branch's global key event alone.
Between the Piazza and Boulevard in Hall 6, Schattdecor showcased over 100 new furniture and flooring decors at a booth of similar dimensions as in 2007, when the biennial event last took place. Karelia Pine, Coimbra and the fantasy decor Riffle were the furniture decors that particularly aroused the enthusiasm of the more than 400 customers that Schattdecor was able to welcome to its booth between 13 and 16 May. The elegant Nero Marquina, Plateau Apple and Canyon White Pine proved to be the main focus of attention among the flooring decors, while Laricio Pine and Pinewood found great interest among the foil decors. All this gave guests and customers from all over the world plenty to talk about at the booth party on the first evening of the fair.
The centre of the spacious and clearly arranged booth was formed by a trend bungalow in a generously dimensioned garden area, in which living spaces merged and interior and exterior intermingled in line with Schattdecor's new trend concept.
Furniture with a lounging appeal in the garden area drew attention to the seven prototype digital-print decors in the company's new Digital VISION Made by Schattdecor product line. Especially developed by the Thansau design and creative team for the Interzum, the prototype designs reflected the surface specialist's intense preoccupation with digital printing plus the creative approach being taken to this forward-looking technology by its decor developers.
Schattdecor's undiminished innovative prowess in the field of tactile surfaces was demonstrated on the walls of the booth faced in Statuario Venato, a decor from the newly-minted Smartfoil High Gloss collection. This consummate symbiosis of decor design and surface finish so convincingly imitated highly-polished marble, it had customers touching it in disbelief.
Pinewood and Laricio Pine, two decors designed for the new Postfoil 3D post-impregnated finish foil collection, were also unveiled, featuring a truly three-dimensional surface texture that will open up new design possibilities for furniture manufacturers.
At the Innovation of Interior zone in Hall 4.2, Schattdecor showed various ways in which furniture decors can be used in wall panelling, as consummately demonstrated in one particular case at its headquarters in Thansau. Thanks to the displays, a number of interior architects, designers and product development engineers from such noted corporations as Lufthansa and AIDA Cruises went on to its main booth in Hall 6 to learn more about Schattdecor's operational diversity.
Interzum 2009 was thus a complete success for Schattdecor. Customers and guests visibly enjoyed the time they spent at the company's booth in Hall 6, which proved to be an ideal platform for companies working in the area of decorative surfaces. In other words, the Interzum is the place to be, the place where new products are unveiled and the future takes on shape.
