03.11.2008 Successful showing for Schattdecor at the ZOW Italia in Pordenone – 23 new decors and impressive foil collection put on display
|
Franco Lozza, Sales Director at Schattdecor s.r.l., and his team are very satisfied with the way things went at the ZOW Italia, their eighth showing at the highly successful furniture components show in Pordenone. They put a total of 34 decors on display, including 23 new ones developed by Schattdecor Thansau of Germany since February's ZOW Bad Salzuflen.
Coimbra Ash in particular provided plenty of talking points in the crowded halls of the Fiera di Pordenone. A modern decor, it quotes the heartwood theme without seeming rustic in effect thanks to the clarity of the grain. The especially selected material displays slight movement within the predominantly straight-grained look, and subtle planking sets off the highly interesting colouring to advantage.
Blomberg Chestnut and Calvi Apple also met with great interest among the customers from Italy and the rest of Europe, eliciting many requests for samples. The subdued rippling and figured grain of the distinguished-looking Calvi Apple make it a highly contemporary and thus extremely promising furniture decor, in which subtle sapwood inclusions and restrained broad planking enliven the overall composition. Three textile-inspired decors, namely Panarea, Twist and Zephir, were also put on show, underscoring Schattdecor's aspiration to express current design trends with ornamental designs.
In her choice of decor for the laminate flooring at the booth, Michela Avancini of the Italian sales team displayed an unusual and creative approach, opting for the furniture decor Nero Marquina and achieving a feeling of spaciousness and light and a good impression in general. In contrast to the white furniture and white trend decors such as Marsala Oak and Canyon White Pine, the result is a nuanced and agreeable interpretation of Schattdecor's booth theme of the year: "White and Woodgrain Decors – An Impressive Match".
In demonstration of its technical surface finish expertise, Schattdecor also put its foil programme on display. Blomberg Chestnut and Salisbury Oak were notable in the Smartfoil® collection for pore effects in the form of optical pores and chemically-induced real ones, while visitors and customers were particularly impressed by the Postfoil® programme presented by Schattdecor's Italian subsidiary. In this respect, the development specialists headed by Technical Director Marco Aquino displayed Noce Mondiale in a matte surface version, Agora in a glass finish and the successful Sambesi Zebrano with a fascinating 3D texture, thus presenting an overview of all the surface finish possibilities that can be achieved with finish foil.
