Following their fusion on 08.01.2008, the two plants run by Schattdecor AG in Głuchołazy and Tarnowo Podgórne in Poland are now operating as a single company under the management of Schattdecor Sp. z o.o. of Tarnowo Podgórne. In the process, the production profile of the two plants has not been changed.  The plant in Głuchołazy, which did business as Prismadecor Sp. z o. o. before the fusion, will continue to be the Schattdecor group's main producer of foil on the basis of preimpregnated decor paper. 

The change in Prismadecor's name to Schattdecor at the beginning of the year is the final point in the integration of the company into the Schattdecor group, a process that began in 1999. The fusion is of major significance for the group as it consolidates its position on the Polish and international markets. 

Dynamic investments
Schattdecor AG has consistently invested in the Głuchołazy plant since gaining a share in it in 1999 and acquiring it outright in late 2005.  The investment measures have included the complete modernisation of the early-20th-century paper factory buildings at the site, with the result that they are now regarded as a prime example of contemporary industrial architecture.  The plant, which is fitted with state-of-the-art production equipment, performs jobs for European companies first and foremost but also does work for customers from all over the world.  Schattdecor's latest investment in the location is particularly worth mentioning in this respect, concerning as it does a new 2,000-square-metre production hall completed in May 2007 and housing a new lacquering unit (codenamed PML5) that was recently taken into operation. 

The high-tech lacquering line enables the production of sophisticated foil products, for which there is a growing demand all over the world.  The Swedish furniture chain IKEA is just one of the Głuchołazy foil specialist's customers in this respect.

The overall investment of several million euros into the Głuchołazy plant has thus set the course for its long-term development, and is already yielding a technologically mature and high quality product that can be individually adapted to customers' wishes.

With the help of its know-how and the above-average commitment of its employees, the Głuchołazy plant has been able to carve itself out an outstanding market position over the past few years.  As for Schattdecor Sp. z o.o., it is now concentrating its plans on consolidating its market position and continuing its stable development into the future, and takes a confident view of the future.
